A senior Vatican official stated this Sunday (9) that a gay man can be a "good priest."
The statement, said during an event promoted by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica in Bologna, is in line with the will of Pope Francis to open the church to homosexuals
"Being gay is not a sin. However, it's not only about approving the gay world, it is about respect. It's possible to be gay and to be a good priest. The important thing is to respect the chastity vow, because that is the true choice," said the Italian Cardinal Angelo Becciu, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints.
