Children were bought from their families and injected with growth hormones to look older and then forced into prostitution.
Indian authorities are investigating the use of growth hormones in children in a sex trafficking case. Eight people were detained for allegedly sexually exploiting children in a house for prostitution in the Telangana region, according to The Times of India newspaper.
Police reported, on Wednesday, that 11 children (some under 7 years of age), who had been orphaned or had been bought for 2,500 euros from their families to enter the world of prostitution, were rescued.
