€23 million seized in anti-trafficking operation in Brazil

The Brazilian Federal Police carried out a joint operation with Paraguay's Anti-Drug Secretariat this Tuesday, seizing R$100 million (€23 million) from an international drug trafficking ring.

A press release issued by the Brazilian Police revealed that 'Operation No Exit', carried out in the states of Mato Grosso and Paraná, has dismantled a criminal organization linked to a drug lord who, despite being in prison, runs a million-dollar business in Paraguay.

"In these operations carried out by the Federal Police, we should highlight the international cooperation with Paraguay's Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), which resulted in the closure of 41 companies, the seizure of 42,000 head of cattle," and the distraint of 31 farms in Paraguayan soil, the press release reads.
