Ministry of Justice wants to avoid increased waiting times and avoid unnecessary trips to services: processes can now be checked on the Internet.
The Institute for Registration and Notary Affairs is currently analyzing about 130 thousand applications for nationality, a trend that has continued to increase in the first half of this year.
The Secretary of State for Justice, who oversees this area, told TSF that there are several reasons for this to be happening. However, 2019' s growth is mainly related to the international situation: people of Portuguese descent in Venezuela and Britons who, because of Brexit, intend to have an European Union nationality.
