White House accuses Beijing of harassment tactics in the South China Sea

The White House has accused Beijing of using "harassment tactics" in South China Sea region and said it will be resisting the "recent escalation of intimidation efforts".

"The United States strongly supports those who oppose the tactics of coercive behavior and harassment that threaten regional peace and security," White House National Security Adviser John Bolton said on Twitter.

"The recent escalation in China's efforts to intimidate others into harnessing the resources of the South China Sea is worrying," he added.
