The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) today presented the 10 officers of Renamo that will join the corporation, under the agreement of cessation of hostilities signed this Thursday between the Government and the main opposition party.

"These are the members from Renamo who joined the Police of the Republic of Mozambique," said Police Commander General Bernardino Rafael, speaking during the presentation of new members to the corporation at the premises of the PRM Rapid Intervention Unit in Maputo..

This is a group of 10 members, which should be trained intensively on the PRM bylaws within 45 days to join the ranks of the corporation, in compliance with the hostilities cessation agreement signed on Thursday by the head of Filipe Nyusi, and the president of the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo), Ossufo Momade.

"These brothers are not foreigners, but Mozambicans. Therefore, they have the right to contribute to order and security in our country, "added Bernardino Rafael.

The parties will also sign this month a final general peace agreement, which will then be submitted as a bill to the parliament.
