Opposition installs Guaidó as interim president again

The proposal for Juan Guaidó to take the oath again as Venezuelan interim leader came from Deputy Carlos Berrizbeitia and was supported by more than 100 parliamentarians of the opposition.

The opposition majority in the Venezuelan Parliament has installed Juan Guaidó again as interim President of Venezuela this Tuesday during a rather bumpy plenary session marked by the forcible entry into the National Assembly of opposition deputies.

The decision reiterates the challenge made by the opposition forces to the Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro, who has been ruling since 2013 and who is being challenged to step aside from power and to call "free elections" by a large part of the international community.
