The Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 2019 is the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. In office since April 2018, the 43-year-old laureate has been highlighted for the peace agreements with neighboring Eritrea.
The Nobel Peace laureate of 2019 is the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, as announced this Friday in Oslo, Norway. The prize, which will be awarded on December 10, is worth 9 million SEK, that is, around 830.000 euros.
"Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has been awarded this year's Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in favor of peace and international cooperation, in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea", said the president of the Nobel Committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen.
