The State Minister for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, never acknowledged receiving any notification to make statements, as a witness, in the case of an illicit transfer of 500 million USD from the National Bank of Angola (BNA), whose trial is taking place in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.

A source from Jornal de Angola linked to the process guarantees that Manuel Nunes Júnior never received any notification, although he understands that, for the defense of the former BNA governor, Valter Filipe, it is essential and necessary to hear the Minister of State.

Valter Filipe's defense considers that Manuel Nunes Júnior is a necessary witness because, at the time, as the Minister of State for Economic and Social Development, he was present at a meeting in Luanda between the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, and the promoters of the initiative (Perfectbit, Mais Financial Service, SA and Bar Trading) which aimed to create a strategic investment fund to finance structural projects in Angola.
