The former PSD parliamentary leader was born 45 years ago, holds a degree in law from Catholic University, and started his political career in the JSD.
Luís Montenegro, who on Friday challenged the PSD leader to call elections, became an MP at the age of 29 and was the face of Passos Coelho's government in parliament during the Troika years.
Montenegro first entered the Portuguese Parliament in 2002, when Durão Barroso was prime minister and the Social Democrat leader. He started his political career in the JSD (Young Social Democrats) and served as councilman in Espinho.
