If the Venezuelan president decides not to step down, the US will tighten sanctions, warned Mauricio Claver-Carone, a White House official for Latin America.

The United States announced on Tuesday that they informed Nicolas Maduro's close circle that the Venezuelan president has a "short deadline" to step down, in case he does not intend to face international justice and Washington's new measures.
