The main focus of the party led by João Lourenço will be the "challenges of the future"
The MPLA Political Bureau announced yesterday in Luanda that an Extraordinary Congress will be held in 2019. The decision was made during the Bureau's first ordinary meeting, chaired by MPLA and Angola's President João Lourenço.
"The Political Bureau has made the decision to hold an Extraordinary Congress this year... focusing on the challenges of the future, which the MPLA seeks to overcome," reads the communiqué sent to O País. During the meeting, the Political Bureau also approved the MPLA Political Agenda for 2019, a document containing the fundamental political initiatives and guidelines for the year, which will involve all bodies, agencies and party members, both in the country and abroad, and which will be launched on February 2 in Luanda.
