The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, arrived in Beijing, China, early Monday morning as part of a two-day state visit at the invitation of his counterpart Xi Jinping.
The Head of State returns to the Chinese capital 36 days after attending the III Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (September 3 to 4), leading a major ministerial delegation to strengthen bilateral cooperation, initiated in 1983.
It was 09h05 local hour (02h05 in Angola) when João Lourenço and First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço landed in the Chinese capital, where they were received by the assistant minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Chen Xiaodong.
Also attending the President of the Republic's reception were Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto, Angola's ambassador to China, João Salvador dos Santos Neto, China's ambassador to Angola, Cui Aimin, among other individuals. João Lourenço begins his official program Tuesday with the laying of a crown of flowers on Tiananmen Square in the center of China's capital.
