Frelimo filed a disciplinary case against Samora Moisés Machel Júnior after he ran in the municipal elections as the head of the AJUDEM civic group.
Samora Machel's son may be expelled from Frelimo in the wake of the disciplinary process that the party raised against him after he ran in the Mozambican municipal elections, held in October, as the head of the civic group AJUDEM.
Samora Moisés Machel Júnior confirmed to Carta de Moçambique that he was notified by the Frelimo Verification Committee for a hearing that should have been held last Thursday, February 7, and that he did not attend because he was absent from the country.
The disciplinary proceedings against Samito Machel, as the son of the former President of the Republic of Mozambique is known, could result in his expulsion from the party at the next session of the Central Committee in March.
Samito Michel had been removed from the internal electoral process, a situation which, he argues, was a blatant violation of the party's statutes. An exclusion that was never explained to him and that led him to accept being head of AJUDEM.
