The President of the European Commission told the European Parliament that Europe can not remain silent in the face of the "imminence of an humanitarian disaster" in Idlib, Syria.
"Syria and (the province of) Idlib should be for all of us cause of deep and immediate concern. We can not remain silent in the face of the imminence of a humanitarian disaster," said the President of the Community Executive during his last address about the State of the Union in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
"In today's world, Europe can not continue to take it for granted that the commitments made yesterday will still be respected tomorrow. Today's alliances are probably no longer the alliances of tomorrow," he warned.
