Cape Verde PM addresses youth, unemployment woes

Cape Verde"s Prime Minister Ulisses Correia da Silva has focused on the needs of the country"s youth, namely those who are jobless, in his annual Christmas message, pledging to step up efforts to put fort bold employment policies.

Correia da Silva acknowledged that in his two years in office his cabinet has yet to tackle the many problems facing the youth.

"The economy is growing steadily and it will create more jobs", the head of government said. The Prime Minister also promised to focus on professional training, apprenticeships and better tertiary education also to meet the needs of the employment market.
