Cape Verde and the Netherlands sign cooperation agreements

The three cooperation agreements focus education, cruise tourism, maritime economy, and social security. The Cape Verdean president is visiting the Netherlands

In a press release, the Cape Verdean government added that the agreements were signed by the Cape Verdean minister of Foreign and Community Affairs, the Cape Verdean minister of Defense, and the Dutch Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation, Sigrid Kaag.

According to the press release, this is "a significant step forward in consolidating and diversifying cooperation and friendship ties between the two countries."

The press release says that the Dutch government "co-funds, with the Cape Verdean government, the construction of the cruise terminal on São Vicente Island with a €29 million investment."

"We can say that we have successfully fulfilled our mission with this visit," said the Minister of Foreign and Community Affairs at the end of the protocol signing ceremony, which was attended by the President of Cape Verde Jorge Carlos Fonseca and the King of Holland William Alexander.
