The president of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, said today (7) that the government wants a single currency for all of South America.
The proposal was presented yesterday by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes. According to Bolsonaro, the idea is to start with Brazil and Argentina, which are the largest South American countries, and then expand it to other nations if they wish.
"A family starts with two people. The idea was launched in Argentina. What I heard Paulo Guedes say is that he would like other countries to think about it and who knows, make a single currency here in South America. "
