German Chancellor is Europe's de facto leader and has rescued Germany from the crisis.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, aged 64, tops the Forbes ranking of the 100 most powerful women in the world for the eight year running. The list was published today (December 4) by Forbes magazine.
According to Forbes, Merkel remains as powerful as ever, even after announcing in October that she will not run for a fifth term in 2021 and that she will leave the CDU leadership by the end of 2018.
