The opposition leader said he will return to the country from Ecuador, where he will stay until Sunday.

Recognized as interim president in more than 50 countries, Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó announced on Saturday night that he will return to Venezuela from Ecuador and that he will call for protests next week.

"I announce that I will be coming home from Ecuador, a sister country that will today resume productive relations for our peoples," Guaidó told reporters in the coastal city of Salinas (southwest) alongside Ecuador's President Lenin Moreno, as part of a South American tour to seek support for hi cause.

According to official information, Guaidó plans to leave Ecuador on Sunday (March 3) around 9.30 am (11.30 am BRT).
