Comedian wins presidential elections in Ukraine

Actor and comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy has reportedly won the elections in Ukraine with 73% of the vote, according to exit polls

It was a big defeat for Petro Poroshenko, who had become president in the election that followed the 2014 revolution, former President Viktor Yanukovich's exile, and the growing tension with pro-Russian groups.

The life of the comedian and TV producer thus replicates the role that earned him nation-wide fame in a show about a history teacher who becomes the president after one of his student films his anti-corruption speech.
