Brazil's Foreign Ministry argues that only "global" matters are included in BRICS statements.

The final BRICS summit declaration addresses the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the war in Yemen, the nuclear threat in North Korea and the conflict in Syria, - but does not mention Venezuela and Bolivia, countries neighboring Brazil which have been experiencing political and economic turmoil.

Brazil's Foreign Ministry argues that only "global" matters are included in BRICS statements. The Venezuelan crisis resulted in the exodus of 4 million people.
