Future head of the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights, Priest Damares Alves said that the most important project in Congress is the status of the unborn.
The bill is on the House Committee on Women's Rights and restricts women's rights to abortion.
"We have interesting projects in Congress. The most important one in which we are going to be working on is the issue of the status of the unborn child. We will establish public policies for the baby in the mother's womb," Damares said while leaving for a meeting with the transition team of the new government at the CCBB (Cultural Center of Banco do Brasil).
The statute classifies the fetus as a conceived human being, this includes those "in vitro" prior to the transfer to the womb, although they are not yet born.
