Formerly ruled by leftist Evo Morales, the country rejected the bloc's pressures for regime change in Venezuela.
Bolivia announced today (Dec 22) its entry into the Lima Group, a regional bloc originally set up in 2017 to seek a way out of the crisis in Venezuela.
"The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces Bolivia's entry into the Lima Group. Thus, Bolivia hopes to contribute to a peaceful, democratic and constitutional solution to the crisis in Venezuela, which must be led by the Venezuelan people," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
