Beijing warns of outside interference in Macau

The "outside forces" that have been stirring up political unrest in Hong Kong are also trying to infiltrate Macau, says the director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Bureau at the State Council.

In an article published in a Chinese Communist Party magazine, Zhang Xiaoming states that Macau is being targeted by external forces, but does not reveal where the alleged threat comes from.

The chief official in charge of the affairs of China's two special administrative regions simply makes the warning in a text published in the latest issue of the Chinese Communist Party's bimonthly publication "Qiushi" ("Seeking Truth").
