70% reject Bolsonaro's gun license plan

Datafolha poll shows that support for gun control laws has reached the highest rate in six years.

President Jair Bolsonaro's plan to facilitate gun licenses in Brazil is rejected by 70% of the population. This is the conclusion of a Datafolha poll conducted on July 4-5, which also shows that the number of people in favor of gun possession prohibitions - which was already a majority - has been growing (within the margin of error).

The number of people who agree with the statement that "gun possession should be prohibited because it poses a threat to the lives of others" grew from 64% to 66% between April and July, thus reaching the highest rate since November 2013 (68%). After a drop between 2013 and 2017, the rejection rate has been growing steadily since June 2017.
