Qatar wants to invest in Angola

The President João Lourenço said yesterday in Doha, that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, showed increased openness and willingness to encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to disembark in Angola with full force and invest in various branches of the economy.

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Free Zones, the Head of State stated that the meeting with the Emir of Qatar and the signing of several agreements that followed was the highlight of his visit. From now on, he stressed, we think that cooperation will flow more easily to Qatar's investments in Angola and vice versa, and they will be better protected.
On Saturday, the Head of State had a working dinner with the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister, which was considered "quite productive." "We explained what we want with relations between the two countries," he said. The President of the Republic considered that the visit to Qatar was "very important," because both countries have had diplomatic relations for a long time, but only now it was possible for an Angolan Head of State to make an official visit. Qatar, he said, is an important country not only in the region but also in the world.
