Mozambique is recovering well from the combined effect of cyclones Idai and Kenneth, which hit the country in 2019, said the assistant director general of the International Monetary Fund, in Maputo, quoted by the Mozambican press.
Tao Zhang, who met with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Adriano Maleiane, and the Governor of the Bank of Mozambique, Rogério Zandamela, praised the macroeconomic reforms underway in the country.
"I am particularly pleased with the economic performance, which has been good. Besides, the country is recovering well from the devastating impact of the tropical cyclones Idai and Kenneth, which happened last year," said the official.
