Macau collects 4,8 thousand Euros in direct taxes in five months

Macau raised 44,707 billion patacas (about 4.8 billion euros) in revenues from direct taxes on gambling in the first five months of the year.

According to the provisional data published on the website of the Directorate of Finance Services of Macau, this result represents an increase of about 20.4% over the same period of the previous year.

As to total revenues, Macau Administration received 53.787 billion patacas until the end of May, 8.776 billion patacas more than in the same period of last year.

Public accounts had a positive balance of MOP28.28 billion, compared to MOP24.027 billion in the previous year.

Direct taxes on gambling - 35% of the gross revenues of casinos - represented, in the first four months of the year, approximately 84.5% of the total revenues of Macau Administration.

In what concerns expenditure, there was an increase of 4.574 billion patacas compared to the same period of 2017, reaching now 25.558 billion patacas.

According to the provisional data, the Macau Administration closed 2017 with revenues of 118,069 billion patacas, 15.3% more than in 2016.
