Sino-US trade war will affect Macau

The economy of Macau will not be immune, in 2019, to global uncertainties and risks, in particular due to trade tensions between China and the United States, the Monetary Authority (AMCM) says in the latest "Monetary and Financial Stability Review."

In the document, published at the beginning of each quarter and highlighted today by the newspaper Tribuna de Macau, it should be noted that 2019 might be a particularly challenging year for the economy of Macau because of a global environment marked by signs of slowdown and conflicts.

The Bureau of Studies and Statistics of the Monetary Authority warns that "the prospects for the economy of Macau will be obscured by external uncertainties."
