Mozambique to become a middle-income country by 2035

Mozambique should become a middle-income country by 2035 by reaching the goals laid out in Mozambique's 2015/35 National Strategy for Economic Development, the Minister of Economy and Finance said.

Adriano Maleiane reiterated the government's determination to reach its goals during his speech yesterday at the 4th Financial Times Summit in Maputo, Mozambique, an event that has brought together business personalities to discuss ways of attracting more investment to the natural gas industry.

According to AIM news agency, the minister pointed out that the government's goal is to improve the quality of life of Mozambicans "by creating opportunities for them to create their own wealth, on their own."
