Huawei's Founder says the company will resist American pressure

The major Chinese mobile phone company is ready to resist pressure from Washington and reduce its dependence on US components, its founder told the Japanese press.

US President Donald Trump banned, on Wednesday, the companies from his country from using telecommunications equipment from foreign companies, a move that seems to be aimed at Huawei.

"We were preparing for this," company founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei told a group of Japanese journalists on Saturday, during his first public reaction to Trump's decision.
