The exports of the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industry grew by 2.2% in the first five months of the year, compared to the same period last year
The textile and clothing sector in Portugal thus reaches a total value of exports in the order of 2.25 billion euros. In this way the usual growth trajectory is maintained, according to the statement from the ATP (Association of Textiles and Clothing of Portugal)
In terms of categories of products, in addition to the exports of textile materials already mentioned, clothing grew 2,2% and home textiles and other manufactured textile articles grew 0,7%.
Italy stands out as the fastest growing customer in this period, in absolute terms, registering a value of almost 34 million euros, corresponding to a percentage evolution of 33%.
