The country will reduce tariffs on US-made automobiles from the current 40% to 15%.

China has agreed to reduce tariffs on imported US cars from the United States by 15 percent during a telephone conversation with representatives of the US government whose aim was to try to resolve the hotly contested trade dispute between the two largest economic powers on the planet, said one person informed on the subject.

Chinese Assistant Prime Minister Liu He has informed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and US government trade chief Robert Lighthizer about the decision in a phone call late Monday.
