Governor Rui Costa (PT) estimates that the bidding will be held until November this year on the São Paulo Stock Exchange.
The government of Bahia published this Wednesday (18) the bidding notice for the construction and operation of the controversial and billionaire bridge between Salvador and Itaparica Island, crossing the bay of Todos-os-Santos. Budgeted at R $ 5.34 billion, the bridge will be erected through a public-private partnership, in the sponsored concession modality, in which the government of Bahia will make a contribution of R $ 1.51 billion. The rest of the investment will be made by the private sector, which will commercially exploit the bridge over 35 years.
When completed, it will be the second largest bridge in Brazil - just behind Rio - Niteroi -, 12.4 kilometers long and with a central span 85 meters high and 400 meters wide.
