Angolan president requests assistance to help stabilizing economy

Angola's president João Lourenço, has called on Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) to help Angola overcome the hardship it has been facing in order put the economy at the service of the people's development, progress and well-being.

João Lourenço delivered a speech before the heads of state that took part in the 10thBRICs Summit. The Angolan president was talking at the closing of a forum that brought together the BRICs bloc and African nations. Lourenço highlighted the significant effort carried out by Angola in its national reconstruction process, stressing that Angola has been focusing on infrastructure and social development. Nevertheless, what has been done is not sufficient to meet the growing demands of the grassroots groups and the companies, when it comes to some basic needs, he added.
