Isabel dos Santos is selling her stakes in Portugal and will hire a consultant to sell the bank. The regulatory authority will not reassess Teixeira dos Santos.

The final decision rests with the European Central Bank (ECB). But the choice of the new EuroBic shareholder is underway, and it may well be a Chinese or Spanish bank. The final prize is the 42.5% stake that Isabel dos Santos - the daughter of the former president of Angola - owns in the bank, which is headed by Fernando Teixeira dos Santos.

The Angolan businesswoman is the bank's main shareholder. Her stake is held through Santoro Financial Holding, which holds 25% of the bank, and Finisantoro Holding Limited, which owns the remaining 17.5%. Fernando Teles is the second-largest shareholder, holding 37.5% of the stock. The shareholder structure also includes Luís Cortez dos Santos, Manuel Fernandes and Sebastião Lavrador, all with a 5% stake.
