Startup companies in Macau explore opportunities in Brazilian market

Eleven startup companies from Macau made a series of trips in Brazil to strengthen the exchange with local incubators and explore opportunities in the Brazilian market.

In Rio de Janeiro, visits were made to the Startups Factory, a Portuguese accelerator based in the city, and to the Startup Rio incubation center, according to Macau Economic Services Bureau (DSE).

In the largest Brazilian metropolis, S. Paulo, the delegation traveled to the "Cubo Itaú", an innovation and technology area, and to the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology of the local University.

The trip was organized by the DSE, together with the Business Incubation Center for Young People of Macau (CINJM).

"The projects of Macau companies have certain potentialities in the Brazilian market," said the DSE, highlighting the "multilingual intelligent translation plataform of Macau" presented during the visit.

The green translation plataform, established through state-of-the-art technologies such as artificial intelligence, large data volume and natural language processing, can create a Chinese-Portuguese-English translation system.

"The Brazilian businessmen were very interested and considered that the plataform can reinforce more effectively the commercial exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries" concluded the SDR.
