China's business investment in Brazil down by 75% in 2018

The investment made by Chinese companies in Brazil in 2018 dropped by 75.5% to 2761 million dollars, according to the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management.

The most recent edition of the Chinese Investment in Brazil Bulletin prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country states that the homologous drop in the year is due to the fact that the year of 2017 was the investment peak of Chinese companies in Brazil.

If Chinese companies invested, in the previous year, 2583 million dollars in fusions and acquisitions and 178 million dollars in greenfield sites, in 2017 these values rose to 11 298 million and eight million dollars, respectively.
