Amazon announces record profit in the second quarter of the year

The company reported, on Thursday, that it registered a profit of 2.5 billion dollars (2.137 billion euros), the biggest of all time.

Amazon reported, on Thursday, that it registered profits of $ 2.5 billion (€ 2.137 billion) in the second quarter of the year, the all-time record of the e-commerce company.

According to Reuters, the good performance, which doubled Wall Street's targets, was due to cloud computing services and growth in advertising. "A major contributor to this quarter and the previous ones has obviously been the strong growth in our most profitable business, as well as advertising," Brian Olsavsky, chief financial officer of Amazon, said in a conference call. "We've had an efficiency above the expected in many of our spending, for example, the ones done with warehouses and marketing," he added.
