The Portuguese chocolate manufacturer Imperial is now a leading supplier of Walmart Brazil, which will allow them to enter markets in Mexico, Chile and China next year. "Imperial has signed an agreement with Walmart Brazil and we are now a leading supplier of the brand Sam's Club, which opens the doors to Mexico, Chile and China next year, namely to healthy products," the president of the company, Manuela Tavares de Sousa, said to Lusa.
The company is betting on "strengthening its position in the domestic market," where it is growing at a 10% rate in terms of sales and is gaining market share, but also at international level, where it focusing on links to the world's large retailers. "We [also] concluded an agreement with Pik n Pay for the supply of pintarolas (colored chocolate candies) and we have concluded another agreement with [South African] Shoprite," the manager said.
