Next summer, Rio will have a Ferris wheel inspired by the London Eye

Giant wheel begins to be erected in the Harbor of Rio

The summer in Rio de Janeiro will have a great novelty for visitors and residents: a giant Ferris wheel is already being built in the harbor. It will be similar to the London Eye, which has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in London since it was inaugurated in 2000.

From the top of its 88 meters, passengers will have a unique view of the city, with Corcovado, Pão de Açúcar, Guanabara Bay and even Niteroi in the same frame. The main structure of the Ferris wheel began to be erected last week alongside the AquaRio, another important attraction of the harbor region.

The new attraction is expected to open until early December. The Ferris wheel will have 54 air-conditioned cabins, each with a capacity for 8 passengers.
