Japanese adults start having sex at an increasingly later age, study says

One out of ten Japanese in their 30s has never had a heterosexual experience, and the number of sexually inexperienced adults is on the rise, a new study has found.

A data comparison with other developed countries shows that "Japanese adults tend to become sexually active at an increasingly later age" and that a "large portion does not have a heterosexual experience until they are almost 40."

This Tokyo University study used data from seven National Fertility Surveys conducted between 1987 and 2015.
