Almost 80% of Brazilians did self-medicate, according to Datafolha research

The majority in the country self-medicate even when they have a prescription

More than half of Brazilians (57%) who have used drugs in the past six months have self-medicated even with a prescription, changing the dose of the drug on their own. In general, 77% of the population self-medicates.

The data are from Datafolha research, commissioned by the CFF (Federal Pharmacy Council), which will subsidize a national awareness campaign on the rational use of medicines that begins on Monday (29).
