Xana, at the young age of nine years, succumbed to a tumor.
On Thursday night, Luis Enrique, former Spanish National Team coach, announced the death of his daughter Xana, only nine years old. Xana had been fighting a bone tumor for the last five months. Luis Enrique had announced his resignation as the Spanish Team's coach on June 19, in a brief letter in which, without elaborating, he thanked the Federation, the players, the officials and the press for their behavior.
"Our daughter Xana passed away this afternoon at the age of nine after battling an osteosarcoma for five intense months. "We appreciate all the displays of affection received during these months and we thank you for your discretion and understanding."
