"Zorro" completes its 100th anniversary

Its name goes back to the figure of a person who fights against all injustices: "Zorro", born August 9th, 1919 out of Johnston McCulley's imagination

It has become as famous as a pop culture icon as "Tarzan" or "Superman".

After an initial adventure " The curse of Capistrano"", first issued on a Californian pulp, McCulley wrote another 60 stories, making Zorro one of the earliest swashbuckler heroes in American literature.

It was on the screens, however, in cinemas and on TV, that the masked avenger became more popular.
