A research of one of the most famous works of Renaissance genius Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519), "Virgin of the Rocks," revealed new sketches about a composition hidden under the painting. The discovery was made by experts at the National Gallery in London, who study the Italian works for an exhibition to be launched on November 9. The information was released by the "BBC" on Thursday (15).
According to the researchers, initial designs were discovered for the angel and the baby Jesus. The drawings, however, have significant differences compared to the final painting. Both were positioned higher up in the drawing, with the angel facing outward and looking down.
