The Portuguese soap opera "Vidas Opostas," produced by SP Television and aired on SIC, is among the nominees for the Emmy International television awards, announced this Thursday. The winners will be known in November at a ceremony in New York.

"Vidas Opostas," written by Alexandre Castro and starring Sara Matos, Joana Santos, Diogo Amaral, João Jesus and Renato Godinho, disputes the soap opera category with "The River," from South Africa, "La Reina del Flow," from Colombia, and "100 Dias para Enamorarse," from Argentina, according to information released on Thursday on the official website of the awards.
