According to UOL website NaTelinha, Globo laid off more than 100 employees on Wednesday (Oct 6).
Affected departments include costumes, transportation, production, and entertainment. The decision is part of the merge involving companies within the Globo Group, which has been raising concerns among employees. Inside sources told NaTelinha that this is just the first phase of the company's layoffs.
The news site also reports that tension among Globo employees is mounting rapidly because of the merger and the layoffs. This would explain why each company has independent departments such as HR, finance, administration, and so on.
