Marcelino Sambé is now the principal ballet dancer of the Royal Ballet

The Portuguese dancer was promoted to principal dancer of the Royal Ballet dance company of the United Kingdom, was announced today.

The information is advanced by the director of the company, Kevin O'Hare, in the official page of the Royal Opera House, referring that Marcelino Sambé will assume the top place starting next season, 2019-2020.

In praise of Marcelino Sambé's impressive range of artistic abilities, O'Hare recalled that the Portuguese dancer had "a fantastic year with some notable premieres", notably in "Don Quixote" by Carlos Acosta and "Romeo and Juliet", by Kenneth MacMillan.
